About

WE Tango (West End Tango) was created by Pam & John Needham in 2009.

johnandpamAs dancers who first fell in love with each other, and eventually Argentine Tango, they recognized the need for a mid-week milonga in Toronto. So, with the assistance of their son Adrian and various friends and supporters in the tango community WE Tango opened their doors at the Swansea Town Hall Community Centre.

As the milonga continued to gain popularity in the Toronto tango community changes, demands on time, and the departure of Adrian to his new home south of the boarder presented many challenges.  In 2013 Isabella Szymonowicz offered to help co-host WE Tango, providing John & Pam some flexibility when needed. Although she spends considerable time throughout the year travelling for her love of tango, Isabella shares her own passion for the music and the art of the dance at WE Tango with John & Pam.

The milonga is known far and wide for several positive attributes, that include:

– a perfect venue with a wonderful floor

– the most welcoming hosts in town

– complimentary refreshements that include freshly baked treats each week from Pam’s own kitchen

– DJ-ing by John… who’s become a master of the music playing classics both old and sometimes new… but always in keeping traditional tango tradition.  And also Isabella… who has DJ’d at festivals across North America and in Buenos Aires.
